WEB -- Where Everybody Belongs
WEB (Where Everybody Belongs)
WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) is a coordinated program that is aimed at helping sixth-grade students transition successfully into middle school. This is accomplished through an interactive and highly engaging summer orientation where sixth-grade students are partnered with a WEB Leader student. The WEB Leader is an eighth-grade student who has passed a multistep application process and two-day training program to learn how to engage and mentor sixth-grade students in a positive way. Throughout the school year, sixth-grade students, along with their WEB Leaders, participate in social activities that promote a sense of belonging, inclusivity, and strategies to become successful students. Additionally, our WEB coordinators have developed character education and social emotional learning lessons/activities to be taught to all seventh- and eighth-grade students. These predetermined lessons/activities are taught by our teachers once a month on what has become known as "WEB Fridays." WEB Fridays are usually the first Friday of each month.
