Welcome to VCMS! 

Our school mission is to "Creating a school that provides engaging instruction that is focused on learning in an environment where Everybody Belongs, Everybody is Healthy, and Everybody is Safe." 

We believe that every student, every parent, every teacher, and every staff member matters and each holds a special place within our VCMS family.

Middle school can seem intimidating, but we view middle school as a great time of transition.  It can be exciting and rewarding to shine a light on students to grow from an elementary mindset to a secondary mindset, to help them think more critically and globally, to become more self-directed and collaborative, and to use their creativity to become problem solvers and innovators.   

Veronica E. Connor Middle School opened in September 1969. Our school is comprised of over 700 students in grades 6, 7, and 8.  We have over 80 faculty members and 20 support staff.

We adhere to the NYS requirements for a Middle School Program and offer programs in core subjects (ELA, Social Studies, Math and Science), special areas such as Career and Technical Education, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Technology, Music, Performing Groups (Orchestra, Band, Chorus), Spanish, French, and Health. In our 8th grade, students are selected to participate in Regents Algebra, Regents Earth Science and or Studio in Art.  Each Regents class earns a high school credit.  We encourage all students to make the most out of their three years at middle school.  We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, from clubs to multiple athletic teams for both boys and girls.
